Mick started in the crazy rock music thing about 25 years ago. He went to a gig where a mate was playing bass guitar and as usual they were running late. Despite him being drunk, his friend dropped a light desk on his lap saying “Hey Mick, you’re running this tonight.” “How’s it work?” “Not a clue, work it out.” Next gig he was invited to run lights again, and again and again. Then sound. Now he can run a 24 channel light desk with one hand and a 24 channel sound desk with the other and when he gets bored he switches hands! He has worked with all sorts of bands, on all sorts of stages, from country to blues, from soul to rock, but Rock is where his heart is. It was the first band he worked with, for more years than he cares to remember, who christened him Roaddog. Last summer he attended a small music festival where friends were playing and there was good beer to be had. Just his sort of place. Whilst standing in front of the stage chatting to a singer, a voice from the dark at the back yelled “Mr Dog, you want to run the desk?” He raised a glass, then the glass in his other hand and replied “No man, your rig you run it, I am working in stereo. Thanks anyway.” . Roaddog is the guy that makes everything work, fixes things on the fly, first on the road and last off, he makes sure everyone gets home safe.
